Why a Christmas Store?
The Northlake Christmas Store started as an initiative to help bring care to the hurting during the 2020 COVID shutdown. Our Senior Pastor, Denny Henderson, saw the number of people who lost jobs and were struggling due to the pandemic and had a vision of having a store where parents could pay a minimal amount and get to really shop for the gifts their kids would love. He wanted to ensure that every parent had the opportunity to feel the warmth of knowing they bought the gifts their kids love, and that every child could feel the excitement of having something special under their tree.
In 2020, our generous church family and community gave enough gifts and donations to support 110 children and parents find their smiles on Christmas morning. After Christmas, we received several cards from receiving families saying that this initiative brought them hope when they were at their lowest moment, and that it was done with dignity, kindness, and so much love. With that kind of response, we knew this would be a mission moment for our Northlake family to bring hope to the hurting every year.

HOW DO I BECOME A RECEIVING FAMILY?
WHAT IS NEEDED TO BECOME A REGISTERED SHOPPER?
All families registering for the Christmas Store will need to complete an application online, provide their drivers license, and proof of residency. Registration for shoppers will open November 2, 2023 and remain open until November 22, 2023. Christmas Store shopping experiences will take place on November 30, December 1, and December 2.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE?
Parents who are registered will be assigned a shopping time during our Christmas Store operation days (NOV 30, DEC 1 & 2). During their assigned time they will get to check-in and pay $15 per child to shop for the perfect toys and gifts that will make their sons and daughters smile this holiday season. Parents will be able to pick-out one large gift, one medium gift, and two small gifts per child in their family.
WHY DOES IT COST $15 PER CHILD?
Parents of our registered kids work hard and love their kids harder and we want to make sure that when their kids look up at them and say "thank you for getting me this gift" that the parents know in their hearts THEY DID buy them and pick them out for them.
